JOB DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS

Description

A Brief Overview

The Research Finance Supervisor is responsible for guiding RFS I & II performance, to include training and daily oversight to assure departmental goals are met. Performs routine analysis of team accuracy and productivity. Primary point of contact with UH CBO on claim management. Responsible for monthly preparation of the Research Finance performance reports and other ad hoc reporting to Finance Director. Responsible for database management, maintenance, and reconciliation.

What You Will Do

Manages daily operations of staff by ensuring adequate staffing and establishing goals/objectives to that body of work, while maintaining efficiency, accuracy and timeliness. (50%)
Independently supports assigned departments (20%)
Responsible for the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports and serves as primary backup to the Financial Director. (15%)
Analyzes current processes and procedures, including work-flow patterns to provide input for greater efficiency. (15%)

Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business or related healthcare field (Required) and
Master’s Degree (Preferred)

Work Experience

5+ years successful research administration experience. (Required) and
Supervisor experience (Preferred) and
Database design, spreadsheet, and graphing experience desired. (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Detail-oriented with demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability. (Required proficiency)
Excellent organizational skills (Required proficiency)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office. (Required proficiency)
Extensive knowledge of Excel and Access (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

Research certification (e.g. clinical trial billing certification, ACRP, CCRP). (Required) and
Advanced degree will substitute for such certification (Required)
