University Hospitals Parma Medical Center is a Certified Level Three Trauma Surgical Unit, offering specialized care in cardiac, vascular, orthopedics, bariatrics, and general surgeries. With 9 operating rooms and 1 Hybrid room, we provide a close-knit, community hospital atmosphere while offering the resources of a larger institution.
We’re looking for dedicated Surgical Technology professionals to join our team. We have both Day & Evening shift opportunities available.

Hours of Operation:
Monday -Friday 7a-530pm. Option to work 8 or 10hr shifts. Call required after hours Monday thru Friday once every other week and one 24hr Weekend Shift in a 6 week period. Must live within 30 minutes of hospital for call.

What You Will Do
- Provide safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using nursing interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.
- Provide patient care/function in a primary scrub position.
- Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures.
- Assure appropriate instruments/supplies are present and in proper working condition.
- Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field.
- Support the operative team, includes following patient care hand off protocol.
- Actively participate in the quality improvement process.
- Involved in learning and self-improvement.
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program (Required)
- Certification preferred but not required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of asepsis, instrumentation, suture and surgical procedures. (Required proficiency)
- Use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs and prescribed medical therapies. (Required proficiency)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to take direction and work in a team environment
- Ability to use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs and prescribed medical therapies
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required within 90 Days)
