Description

A Brief Overview

Responsible for multiple locations, order and physical inventory counts, super users in Vision Software.

What You Will Do

Measure, fit and apply custom orthopedic devices and OTS products.
Able to effectively educate patients, family members and co-workers on DME products, orthopedic devices.
Ability to interact positively with physicians, clients and co-workers.
Effective and clear written, verbal and non-verbal communication, pleasant and effective telephone communication skills.
Apply basic computer skills to proficiently use variety software application such as Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records.
Authorize/pre-cert insurance for orthopedic devices, initiate self- pay Items as needed.
Track, organize, restock and dispense inventory regularly.
Measurements/ fit patient for functional/ OA bracing when needed.
Will move between the locations as scheduled for coverage.

Additional Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications

Education

High School Equivalent / GED (Required)

Work Experience

2+ years experience in a medical setting preferably in durable medical equipment and orthopedics. (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Advanced knowledge of Vision Software (Required proficiency)
Working knowledge of Medical Terminology, anatomy and physiology. (Required proficiency)
Understanding of purpose and goals of orthopaedic treatments and devices. (Preferred proficiency)
Ability to relate well to other people and be considerate of their conditions. (Required proficiency)
Displays the ability to work in a team environment. (Required proficiency)
Able to multi-task and work independently. (Required proficiency)
