What You Will Do (LPN):
- Functions in accordance with the professional standards of the Ohio board of nursing.
- Completes/submits required documentation.
- Delivers effective relationship based nursing care.
- Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.
- Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.
- Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing.
- Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.
What You Will Do (Medical Assistant):
- Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
- Assist with front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.

- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education & Work Experience:
- Other Accredited Program Completion of accredited practical nurse program or currently enrolled in a nursing program. (LPN-Required)
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (MA-Required)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of LPN scope of practice according to the Ohio board of nursing. (LPN-required proficiency)
- Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices) (LPN-required proficiency)
- Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. (MA-required proficiency)
- Able to organize changing work assignments. (MA-required proficiency)
- Medical terminology knowledge. (MA-preferred proficiency)
Licensures & Certifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License Upon Hire (LPN-required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Hire (LPN-required)
