A Brief Overview
Ahuja 6th floor is a 36-bed medical-surgical, telemetry, and neuro floor. Our patients range from young adult to geriatric, and have a variety of different medical diagnoses. On the 6th floor we are committed to providing safe patient care, and we utilize an interdisciplinary team to ensure all of our patients’ needs are being addressed in an efficient manner. The staff consists of RN’s, LPN’s, PCNA’s, nurse managers, and clerical staff; in addition to these positions, we also use The Care Teams of Tomorrow model, which created various positions focusing on supporting bedside staff members. We are very welcoming of new employees, and our onboarding consists of using evidence-based practice to assist staff become oriented to the unit by providing useful feedback, setting learning objectives, teaching hospital protocols, and encouraging critical thinking.
Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education
- (BSN) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required) or
- (MSN) Master’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
- Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License Upon Hire (Required) and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Hire (Required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on clinical area standards. ()
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on clinical area standards. ()
