A Brief Overview
Assesses, Coordinates, Maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Demonstrates technical leadership competency and project coordination with installation, technical commissioning, life-cycle maintenance, calibration and repair of complex biomedical equipment and integrated systems. Capable of educating and mentoring others including clinical staff related to the technical integration of the device/systems.Fully experienced with an exceptional skill of multiple modalities, works with minimal supervision; capable of serving as a trainer, mentor to junior and mid-level staff. Capable of performing in an interim site lead capacity in the absence of HTM Supervisor.
What You Will Do
- Performs in-depth analysis and repairs of a substantial variety of clinical equipment including high risk and critical care.
- Specialized training on specified high risk/critical care systems
• Patient ventilators
• Anesthesia equipment
• Lasers
• Etc.
- Evaluates and repairs networked monitor systems and coordinates with IT personnel for medical data storage and transfer solutions.
- Provides clear and professional communications with all personnel related to the equipment maintenance process.
- Provides equipment cross-training to HTM I and HTM II within the department.
- Provide in depth leadership to the capital planning process to include life cycle management.
- Ability to support and develop cyber security programs.
- Assist management in maintenance and improvement of the Medical Equipment Safety Program.
- Communicates technical issues to management and assists in overall Clinical Engineering maintenance solutions.
- Assists the Manager in meeting all regulatory requirements of CMS, The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local authorities.

Qualifications
Education
- Associate’s Degree preferably in Biomedical Equipment Technology, or military training (Required) or
- 5+ years experience in a hospital as a BMET
Work Experience
- 5+ years Experience in repairing and maintaining medical equipment (Required) and
- 2+ years Of hospital experience. (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills. (Required proficiency)
- Excellent customer service skills and experience.
- Results-oriented and able to shift priorities. (Required proficiency)
- Must possess basic computer skills in MS Office and a computerized work order system. (Required proficiency)
