JOB DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS

Description

What You Will Do

Manage the overall operations, people, financial, academic, service lines, and planning areas for the department(s) & department/institute(s).
Continually focus on improving operations, enhancing revenue and reducing costs.
Assists department leadership to develop and implement strategic and operational plans relevant to the department/s and appropriate department/institutes.
Provide oversight of the operations and support functions for the assigned department(s) and /institute(s) across the health system, including medical centers and satellites. Functions include; physician recruitment and deployment; access, scheduling, training, policies and procedures administration, budget management, human resources, finances, and program growth.
Develop and implement appropriate plans to support department/institute growth including strategy, marketing, finance, human resources, and other related services.

Additional Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or health care related field (Required) and
Master’s Degree (Preferred)

Work Experience

5+ years management experience including demonstrated experience with budgeting, operations, people mgmt, and program development. (Required) and
3+ years direct supervision of staff (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Strong understanding of financial & accounting and operations systems (Required proficiency)
Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor change (Required proficiency)
Strategic thinking and ability to influence change and operations at multiple levels within an organization (Required proficiency)
Experience and understanding of data and information management, and focus on continuous quality improvement (Required proficiency)
Strong Microsoft office skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook (Required proficiency)
Strong knowledge of healthcare business analysis and industry practices (Required proficiency)
