Job Description & Qualifications
The IAM Business Analyst is responsible for the maintenance and support of the IAM application Suite and ancillary applications while working directly with peers, security application developers, and IAM engineers to meet the operational needs of the organization. In addition, this role may act as a liaison between the organization and their technology staff to ensure the environment meets application requirements in conjunction with organization policies and regulatory requirements. Business areas include IT system, Business system, clinical applications and Human Resources.
What You Will Do
- Assist application users and resolve support requests within established service level agreements.
- Troubleshoot application issues, with minimal assistance, to resolution including root cause analysis and recommendations for permanent resolution.
- Perform needs assessment, design, implement, and support activities in accordance with SDLC and project management best practices.
- Lead solution design and business workflow (in conjunction with business partners) phases for low to medium complexity efforts; workflows will focus on improved efficiencies, as well as incorporating quality initiatives.
- Partner with end users to understand workflow and business processes.
- Assist with data collection from business subject matter experts, to facilitate design, which will represent an improved business workflow.
- Prepare detailed flowcharts/diagrams to assist with design decisions and problem analysis.
- Collaborate with the Project Management Office on all phases of a project; from scoping and design through implementation and transition to Operations.
- Partner with IT leaders, business partners, and vendors to implement solutions that meet organization needs, application, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead activities as assigned for medium to high complexity efforts.
- Own specific functionality and processes, responsible for configuration, testing, and communication regarding this functionality/process.
- Support inbound/outbound interfaces as appropriate.
- Independently manage components of application patching and upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and support efforts.
- Lead unit and integrated testing of the application to ensure design objectives are met.
- Collaborate with application analysts and other IT teams to ensure proper system integration.
- Conduct effective meetings and appropriately communicate with business partners, peers, and IT leadership.
- Participate in change management activities to support successful system deployments and enhancements.
- Provide input into end-user training materials and participate in training efforts.
- Leverage vendor support tools and portals to facilitate resolution of application issues.
- Escalate issues as appropriate to internal resources.
- Evaluate and maintain appropriate system documentation.
- Participate in code and technical design reviews.
- Utilize appropriate change control procedures and standards.
- Perform on-call rotation duties in a 24×7 environment.
Additional Responsibilities

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- Associate’s Degree preferably with a focus in Information Technology (Required) or
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably with a focus in Information Technology (Required)
Work Experience
- 5+ years IT experience (Required) and
- 2+ years information security, identity management, access control. (Required)
- Experience in a Healthcare provider environment. (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Technical understanding of IAM suite (Preferred proficiency)
- Experience with the following technologies/products: SailPoint, Oracle, , CyberArc, Varonis or similar Privileged/Identity Access Management solutions (Required proficiency)
- Experience performing controlled code migrations through development environments to production environments. (Required proficiency)
- Practical application of project management methodology. (Required proficiency)
- Strong ability to facilitate process mapping activities and working knowledge of mapping techniques. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to effectively advance assigned tasks with ambiguous or changing requirements. (Required proficiency)
- Detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem solving ability. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to effectively document processes. (Required proficiency)
- Working knowledge of ITIL framework. (Preferred proficiency)
- Strong problem solving skills with ability to research and analyze information. (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge of MS Office. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment. (Required proficiency)
- Ability and willingness to mentor others. (Required proficiency)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to organize and communicate thoughts in a user-friendly manner. (Required proficiency)
