Job Opening: Epileptologist, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center
The Epilepsy Center of the Neurological Institute at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is seeking a full-time Epileptologist to join our world-class clinical and academic team. As a Tier 4 Epilepsy Center (National Association of Epilepsy Centers), we are recognized for excellence in epilepsy care, particularly in epilepsy surgery, seizure semiology, and epilepsy informatics. Our team is composed of leading experts in the field, all of whom hold academic positions at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), and the center offers exceptional opportunities for research collaboration with CWRU’s Neurosciences, School of Medicine, and Biomedical Engineering departments.
The Epilepsy Center is committed to advancing clinical, educational, and research initiatives, and we are looking for an individual who will contribute to the growth and development of these programs. This role includes participation in our nationally recognized Epilepsy Fellowship Program, with five ACGME-accredited fellowship positions each year, as well as involvement in our Neurology Residency Program (48 Neurology residents) and Postdoctoral Epilepsy Scholarship Program (5-10 international physicians) Additionally, the center hosts a biennial International Epilepsy Course as well as weekly Epilepsy Grand Rounds, further enhancing our global impact. Out Epilepsy Center have highly trained technologists with in-person 24/7 coverage in the EMU and in the Neurosurgical ICU.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support develop and expand the clinical, educational, and research programs of the Epilepsy Center.
- Participate in the training and mentorship of neurology residents and epilepsy fellows.
- Participating as instructor/speaker during the International Epilepsy Course.
- Collaborate with faculty from CWRU in research and academic initiatives.
- Engage in patient care, including epilepsy surgery and neurophysiology procedures.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology.
- Completion of an Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship (with at least one year of fellowship training in an Epilepsy Center).
- Experience in epilepsy surgery and neurophysiology is highly desirable; intraoperative monitoring experience is a plus.
- Applicants at the Assistant Professor level is preferred.
- Strong interest in both clinical care and academic collaboration.
