A Brief Overview
Performs diagnostic imaging at the direction of physician protocol. Provides compassionate age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics. This position exists to serve as an experienced contributor, with responsibility for advanced work in their professional area. This includes the indirect and direct supervision of team members, along with assisting and/or acting as the Supervisor of the area.

What You Will Do
- This position performs all of the functions of a Radiographer III, along with the additional responsibilities listed.
- Uses administrative skills to contribute to the successful operations of the department of Radiology.
- Provides intermittent direct and indirect supervision of employees in an assigned area to provide support in the supervisor absence. To ensure safe and efficient operations of the department. Demonstrates successful patent/technical skills by producing a variety of radiological procedures while maintaining the high standards of patient care.
- Collaborates effectively with co-workers and staff to ensure that assignments are completed in a professional and effective manner. Displays a commitment to hospital’s missions and values.
- Assists with preparing written documentation as required by the profession, department, hospital and accrediting bodies. Assists supervisor with ODH, MQSA, and DNV readiness. Participates in the inspection process.
- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of department and associated work areas in compliance with DNV standards.
- Assists supervisor in maintains licensure and continuing education requirements of staff. Preserves support for the learning environment of the hospital and the department of Radiology.
- Performs timekeeping edits in Kronos, as needed, and approvals in the supervisors’ absence.
- Maintains modality schedule, PTO requests, staffing to volumes in conjunction with the supervisor.
- Responsible for PACS Tech QA and follow up of reporting patterns to the supervisor. Requests and assists the maintenance of supplies necessary for department operations.
- Provide direction and guidance for departmental workflows.
- Capable of assuming duties of Supervisor, as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- Associate’s Degree Completion of an accredited 2-year program in Radiologic Technology (Required)
Work Experience
- 5+ years Experience as X-ray Technologist. (Required)
- Proficient at instructing students and new staff. (Required)
- Excellent knowledge of modality specific equipment, computers, PACS, EMR and RIS. (Required)
- Must demonstrate ability to work independently. (Required)
- Excellent knowledge of imaging and exam protocols. (Required)
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise. (Required)
- Ability to and consistently work in all areas of general radiology, including fluoroscopy and OR. (Required)
- Ability to assist Supervisor and act as the supervisor, in their absence. (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Excellent knowledge of a variety of equipment specific to the area, including C-arms, portables, and various computers and computer programs. (Required proficiency)
- Must demonstrate effective organizational, written and oral communication skills. (Required proficiency)
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to perform procedures specific to area. (Required proficiency)
- Excellent knowledge of image and exam protocols. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to work independently. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to assist supervisor and act as the leader in their absence. (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT-R) American Registry of Radiologic Technology (Required Upon Hire) and
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT:R) Ohio Department of Health (Required Upon Hire) and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)
