A Brief Overview
The Senior HR Business Partner provides advanced level counsel and advice to managers and staff relative to human resources policies, initiatives, and programs, while supporting an employee relations work environment that maximizes the performance of a fully engaged workforce. Identifies areas of opportunity within the business relative to employee impact and engagement and will work with leaders to influence change.
What You Will Do
- Provides advanced level Human Resources policy interpretation and guidance to managers and employees in a self-directed environment.
- Partner with business units and entity Human Resources leaders to develop effective strategies to proactively manage employee issues/situations and mitigate risk.
- Acts as primary interface between business unit leadership for all HR needs and partners with HR process leaders to align initiatives with business entity goals.
- Leads and implements change management initiatives in assigned business units. This includes but not limited to managing projects, programs, initiatives and making recommendations for organizational changes.
- Performs analysis on HR items such as turnover, retention, compensation, etc. and make recommendations for changes to management. Uses data analytics to evaluate, make recommendations and partners with operational leaders to influence change or drive improved results.
- Exhibit a level of ownership and initiative to influence and impact the business by mastering the Senior HR Business Partner competencies as outlined below.
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- Human Resources or Business concentration (Preferred)
Work Experience
- 3+ years Of progressive HR Experience (Required)
- Employee Relations experienced (Preferred)
- Must have previous demonstrated experience with Federal/State regulatory agencies (NLRB,EEOC, OCRC, and Ohio Unemployment Compensation), recruitment/employment, compensation, benefits, wage and hour regulations and practices. (Required)
- Oracle experience a plus. (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem solving ability. (Required proficiency)
- Notable client service, communication, presentation and relationship building skills (Required proficiency)
- Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment (Required proficiency)
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy machine, fax machine, etc.) . (Required proficiency)
- In University Hospitals Human Resources Business Partner role for a minimum of 2 years and must meet all HRG competencies. (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrates a high level of achievement for performance expectations/accomplishment/behaviors and requirements of Human Resources Business Partner role as assessed by the HR Leader. (Required proficiency)
- Consistently demonstrates the majority of the Senior HR Business Partner expectations and competencies within their current role as outlined below. (Required proficiency)
