Program Director – Position Description
Position Summary:
The Program Director of the Roe Green Center for Travel Medicine and Global Health is responsible for providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to position the Center and University Hospitals (UH) as a premier provider of travel medicine services and a recognized authority in global health. This role encompasses clinical program expansion, academic engagement, cross-institutional collaboration, and scholarly development in alignment with the Center’s five strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
o Strategic Leadership & Program Development
o Establish the Roe Green Center and UH as a leading partner for international travel medicine services.
o Oversee the expansion of travel health services, including the launch of new travel clinic locations and advancement of tele-travel program
o Advance strategic partnerships that enhance UH’s global health footprint and support international collaborations.
o Academic & Clinical Integration
o Strengthen internal collaborations with departments, divisions, and centers within UH
o Host an annual Grand Rounds series focused on travel medicine and global health to promote knowledge dissemination and clinical excellence.
o Contribute to the advancement of research and innovation in travel medicine and international health.
o Governance & Advisory Engagement
o Lead implementation of the Roe Green Center’s five strategic priorities.
o Coordinate and support participation of strategic priority leads and advisory board members in regular Internal and Joint Advisory Board meetings.
o Lead the Global Health Advisory Councils (Internal and External) and hold annual meetings
o Scholarly Engagement & Stewardship
o Oversee collection and review of quarterly updates on scholarly activities from Roe Green Scholars.
o Organize the annual Roe Green Scholar Dinner to celebrate achievements and foster community.
o Represent the Center at the annual Stewardship Meeting and other key stakeholder engagements.
o Faculty and Trainee Engagement:
o Expand opportunities for faculty, residents, and students to participate in travel medicine and global health activities, including rotations, electives, and mentorship programs.
o Quality Improvement and Metrics Tracking:
o Implement systems to measure the clinical impact, reach, and effectiveness of travel health services and global health programs.
o Community Outreach & Education:
o Promote awareness of travel health and global health topics through public education events, media engagement, and community partnerships.
o Policy Advocacy:
o Represent the Center and UH in national and international forums focused on travel medicine policy and global health advocacy.
o Uganda Building Management
o Program management for the Uganda Research and Clinical Building
o Fundraising
o Point person for fundraising

Board-certified or Board-eligible

Active Ohio Medical License in good standing upon effective date of employment

Excellent clinical and teaching skills

Previous experience in fund-raising and community outreach and education preferred
