Job Description & Qualifications
Responsible for personnel, operations, quality, and fiscal management of the Service Line Emergency Access Team (EPAT). EPAT services all entities of the UH System in providing evaluation & disposition for all psychiatry patients in Emergency Departments and Inpatient Hospitals. The scope of services provided include in-person evaluation, tele-evaluation, patient disposition, clinician consultation, resource line, and code violet (CV) team (CV at CMC only)
What You Will Do
- Leads the planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient care service to meet the needs and goals of the UH System, with focus on safe patient care & efficient ED throughput. Dimension II, III
- Collaborates with the Medical and Nursing Leadership at UH entities to oversee the quality program and provision of care to patients using evidence based practice and research. Dimension III
- Promotes an environment that (1) supports family centered Relationship Based Care reflective of the patient population, (2) promotes professional and collegial partnership with UH Entities & community providers. Dimension I

Additional Responsibilities

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- (BSN) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required) or
- Master’s Degree in pertinent field (Required)
- (MSN) Master’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
Work Experience
- 5+ years progressive clinical experience (Required)
- 2+ years Supervisory or management experience (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrates the ability to facilitate change, excellent communication and organizational skills (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrates skills in human relations, human & material resource management (Required proficiency)
- Evidence of ability to provide exceptional clinical and administrative leadership (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge of current technology and equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed psychiatric therapies (Required proficiency)
- PC and computer applications (Required proficiency)
- Ability to coordinate operational activities and supervise staff. (Required proficiency)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Required proficiency)
- Proven time management and organizational skills (Required proficiency)
- Proven skills in collaboration (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrated ability to apply concepts, utilizes sound judgment, and work independently with in a framework of guidelines. (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed Independent Social Worker Supervisor (LISW-S) (Required Upon Hire) or
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with Supervision (LPCC-S) (Required Upon Hire) or
- Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and
- Certification in specialty (Required within 1 Year)
