Description
This requisition includes any of the following floors: Lerner Tower 3, Lerner Tower 5, Lerner Tower 7, Lerner Tower 8, Lerner Tower 9, CICU, Trauma ICU and the NSU.
Schedules: this requisition has variable shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) as well as variable hours (Full Time, Part Time or PRN) based on current floor needs.
- The Patient Care Nursing Associate PCNA completes patient care activities as delegated by the RN.
- PCAs perform duties including, but not limited to, ADLs, vital signs, I and Os, 12 lead ECG, bladder scan, hygiene and venipuncture where applicable.
- Familiarity with using wheelchairs, EKG equipment, patient assistive devices, and patient care equipment specific to assigned population.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as, exhibiting strong organizational skills and work ethic
- Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients and customers
- Basic computer data entry skills.
- Experience in a large teaching hospital preferred.
- One year job stability preferred.

Qualifications
- High School Equivalent / GED
- BLS certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during UH Orientation.
