Position Summary/Essential Duties:

This individual will play a supportive role in developing, implementing, tracking and supporting practical research to advance the field of integrative health and medicine within UH Connor Whole Health Research. Projects may be focused on the impact of integrative interventions in various settings including clinics, hospitals and/or emergency departments. This individual will play a role with research projects that are intended to have national/international visibility and impact. Under the direct supervision of senior research staff, assists the Principal Investigator and study team on delegated duties to support clinical trials including:

Assists with the organization and maintenance of study files and documents
Assists with the recruitment and retention of research subjects
Assists with study visits and procedures under the direct supervision of the PI and senior study staff
Assists with processing, storage, and shipment of research samples
Performs other duties as delegated and trained by the study team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Experience & Knowledge:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Medical Terminology preferred.
Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment preferred.
Ability to work in a team-setting preferred.
Experience in integrative therapies, including but not limited to acupuncture, massage, meditation, yoga, as well as music and art therapy strongly preferred

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

Must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of sample processing techniques preferred.

Education/Expertise:

HS Diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.

Required Credentials:

DOT/IATA Training (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).

Certification in Human Subjects Protection/CITI Training (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in research is strongly preferred. Computer skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong work ethic are a must. Personal experience with integrative health (i.e. yoga, meditation, acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, etc.) is also strongly preferred. Previous work with REDCap is helpful. This applicant may be assisting with literature reviews of the scientific articles in the field of integrative health. The person will be working with a Connor Integrative Research Specialist on an NIH study and other studies. The team is quite small so the ideal candidate is someone who is very motivated and wants to gain broad experience in clinical research.
