JOB DESCRIPTION

Description

Provide professional support services to UH Ethics Committee. Participate in Ethics Consultation Service. Participate in Educational Activities of Ethics Service. Participate in research activities of Ethics Service.

Essential Duties:

1. Develop and coordinate services to the ethics committees across the system

2. Provide on-call service for the Clinical Ethics Consultation Service across the system

3. Develop and provide multidisciplinary Ethics education

4. Participate in research activities of Ethics Service

5. Assist in creating and implementing clinical ethics initiatives, policies, and processes across the system

6. Other duties as requested by Director of Clinical Ethics Service

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Education:

Terminal degree plus formal training in clinical ethics (e.g., Masters’ degree, Clinical Ethics Certificate, etc.)

Experience & Knowledge:

Five years’ experience in a clinical setting
Knowledge of hospital services
Knowledge of major issues in clinical ethics

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

Excellent communication skills
Conflict resolution skills
Familiarity with major acute care treatment approaches
